The Power of People...and Pie

Stop by for Pie.png

Today I was going to put this post up on our website blog to simply promote the "Come by for Pie" event we are hosting this Thursday (February 1st) from 1:00 - 2:30. Our sweet Regina is baking some of her famous pies to share with our Naples CAREGivers, clients, their families and those in our community who may be considering home care, but want to see what it's all about. It's going to be delicious and fun and we would love to have you. I got this far in writing the promo when it got me thinking.

Pie see you and Pie love you

About a week or so ago, Regina, Kathe and Lynn put together the first "Come by for Pie" afternoon in our Punta Gorda office. It's their home base and we have a great little kitchen for Regina to work her magic in. Most of the local Home Instead Senior Care of SWFL marketing that goes out to the general public I am aware of. I have certain messages that I want to deliver and resources I've identified as necessary. I like to understand the big picture so that I can monitor everything to truly understand what is helpful to people and what they might be in need of. Needless to say, the girls pie event was completely off my radar.

Pie does this matter, you ask?

Good question. It matters because for Regina, Kathe and Lynn, baking pies and inviting the neighborhood over to enjoy them together is just what you do. There is no ulterior motive or any kind of a business objective. This is, at their core, who they are and how they use their particular gifts to love on the people around them. It isn't marketing. There are no gimmicks. They just want you to come over and share some pie. How amazing is that?!

That really got me thinking about our staff as a whole. This group of people who handle the day to day of our offices genuinely want to help everyone they come in contact with. Each has a particular gift and they use that gift as means to love on the people around them, even when some aren't always that loveable. And better yet, when you get to know them and hear some of their personal stories, you understand how incredibly remarkable these people, OUR Home Instead family, truly are. I may be biased because they are MY people, but they are THE people who make Home Instead the best home-care agency in SWFL. I like to tell potential clients that when you sign up for care with Home Instead, you think you are getting 1 person, when in reality you are getting an entire family...and that's the honest to God truth.

Oh yeah, back to the Pie...

I encourage you to "Come by for Pie" in Naples on Thursday. Meet some of the CAREGivers who are the heart of our business and make such a difference in our client's lives every day. Meet some of our staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes and use their amazing gifts to love on our CAREGivers, our seniors and our community at large. Check out our new-ish office right next door to NCH hosptial. And above all, come and enjoy some pie.

If you like pie and you need a little extra help at home, we would love to talk to you. While Regina may not share her pie recipe, we would love to connect you with one of our Home Care Experts to share a little bit about our services and how we can create a customized care plan to meet your individual needs and budget. Sound good?
